Adhesive bonding of denture base resins to plastic denture teeth
Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, 1990AbstractThe adhesive bonding of denture teeth to denture base resins in dentures with conventional acrylic teeth and crosslinked plastic teeth was investigated. The dentures with highly crosslinked plastic teeth such as SR‐Orthosit, Crystal ND, and Mitel‐OM showed poor bonding at the tooth/base resin interface using the conventional bonding method ...

Esthetics and the denture base
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1956Abstract There is no excuse for producing an unesthetic denture base with the materials which are available. A simple sequence of procedures is all that is required. This consists of an anatomic wax-up of the base, proper investment and packing, and staining with three basic stains to imitate the natural tissue tones.

A Comparison of Denture Base Accuracy
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1971A study was undertaken to compare the accuracy of denture bases processed with pour type acrylic resin in a hydrocolloid mold with the accuracy of bases processed by compression molding in which conventional heat-cured acrylic resin was used. A comparison was also made with bases made of compression molded cold-curing repair resin. The pour type resins

Completed bases for removable dentures
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1978A technique for the fabrication of completed bases for removable dentures has been described. The artificial stone mounting casts and completed bases must be kept free of debris at all times to allow for accurate seating of the bases on the casts. The completed bases must be kept in water when not in use between patient appointments.

METALS FOR PARTIAL DENTURE BASES
Anti-Corrosion Methods and Materials, 1973Partial denture bases are often constructed from metallic materials because of the greater strength and rigidity of metals compared with polymeric substances such as polymethylmeth‐acrylate. The primary choice of metal for this purpose has been gold and gold alloys.

Fracture toughness of denture base acrylics
Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, 1980AbstractTwo types of fracture toughness specimen, the tapered cleavage (TC) and single edge notch (SEN), are compared. Their reproducibility, accuracy, and ease of preparation are investigated. The fracture toughness of four types of acrylic resin, heat cured, autopolymerized, injection molded, and high impact resistant, has been determined by one or ...

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1968
Abstract Accurately fitted baseplates are necessary for establishing the correct jaw relations and esthetics for edentulous patients. The correctness of jaw relations, esthetics, and fit can be tested by means of baseplates made from a combination of a hard cold-curing acrylic resin and a soft-curing acrylic resin in undercut areas.

The development of modified denture base materials
Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, 1983AbstractThis work has been undertaken in an attempt to develop improved materials for the construction of dentures. In particular, a material was sought that would combine radiopacity with high impact resistance. Eight particulate radiopaque glasses were prepared and incorporated into poly(methyl methacrylate) denture base material, and the properties ...

Custom-made denture teeth and denture base material for removable partial dentures
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1985A method that uses Isosit material to fabricate custom-made denture teeth and denture base has been described. The advantages of this technique are the denture teeth can be made to function in harmony with dynamics of the stomatognathic system; any type of occlusal scheme can be used; the material is esthetically pleasing; it can be characterized; it ...

The use of nylon as a denture-base material
Journal of Dentistry, 1986Abstract This paper compares some of the properties of a nylon 12 denture base material with some conventional denture base materials and a commercial nylon 12 with 50 per cent glass spheres w/w. The flexural and impact strength were measured and properties of surface hardness, compressive creep, fracture toughness, glass transition temperature ...
