Dental Clinics of North America, 1980

The technique emphasizes the need for an accurate impression of the edentulous ridge and construction of a metal base. The metal base is related intraorally to the abutment restorations and fixed via a strut with autopolymerizing acrylic resin.

Emergency repair of a fractured dowel-retained precision attachment for a removable partial denture

Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 2001
VOLUME 86 NUMBER 3 Precision attachments soldered to a dowel and core, such as the Dalbo attachment (Cendres & Metaux SA, Biel-Bienne, Switzerland), significantly enhance the retention of removable partial dentures (RPDs). This is particularly the case when long spans are to be restored and conventional retentive factors are absent.
