In Chapter 4, we introduced the basic dependence concepts in the context of a perfect nest L of m loops. In this chapter, we consider the mathematical problem of actually computing the dependence of a statement on a statement, caused by a pair of variables.

Two History-Dependent Contact Problems
2015We consider two initial boundary value problems which describe the evolution of a viscoelastic and viscoplastic body, respectively, in contact with a piston or a device. In both problems the contact process is assumed to be dynamic and the friction is described with a subdifferential boundary condition.

This chapter provides an overview of time dependent problems. Many problems require the solution of time-dependent equations. In this context, there are numerous theoretical topics that an analyst should investigate before selecting a computational algorithm. These include the stability limits, amplitude error, and phase error.

Problem-dependent formulas for stiff problems
Journal of Computational Methods in Sciences and EngineeringA novel family of problem-dependent formulas is derived from a concept of eigenmode for the solution of ordinary differential equations. It has problem-dependent coefficients although constant coefficients are generally found for the currently available first order solvers. In general, it is a free parameter control formula.

Velocity Dependent Milne’s Problem
Nuclear Science and Engineering, 1962Infinite-medium solutions of the transport equatfon are used to obtain two integrals of this transport equation, to express the asymptetic approximation to the solution of Milne's problem, and to construct a variational trial solution. This solution is improved by one iteration.

In this chapter, the authors study for the first time in the world the notion of new types of temporal open (closed) sets such as temporal semi open (closed) sets, temporal pre open (closed) sets, quasi temporal semi open (closed) sets, and quasi temporal pre open (closed) sets. Also, they studied the relationship between them and temporal open (closed)

Problem Dependent Generalized Prewavelets
Computing, 2002In this paper, we present a new approach to construct robust multilevel algorithms for elliptic differential equations. The multilevel algorithms consist of multiplicative subspace corrections in spaces spanned by problem dependent generalized prewavelets.

Problem dependent discretizations of evolutionary problems
2019The talk focuses on the numerical solution of evolutionary problems both based on ordinary and partial differential equations, by problem-dependent discretizations that take into account relevant qualitative features of the problems, in the spirit of non-polynomial fitting introduced in several pioneering works by Liviu Gr ...
