Modeling Temporally Evolving and Spatially Globally Dependent Data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The last decades have seen an unprecedented increase in the availability of data sets that are inherently global and temporally evolving, from remotely sensed networks to climate model ensembles.

Compressive Sensing-Based Detection With Multimodal Dependent Data [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2017
Detection with high-dimensional multimodal data is a challenging problem when there are complex inter- and intra- modal dependencies. While several approaches have been proposed for dependent data fusion (e.g., based on copula theory), their advantages ...

Semi-Parametric Estimation and Inference for the Mean Outcome of the Single Time-Point Intervention in a Causally Connected Population

open access: yesJournal of Causal Inference, 2016
We study the framework for semi-parametric estimation and statistical inference for the sample average treatment-specific mean effects in observational settings where data are collected on a single network of possibly dependent units (e.g., in the ...

Predicting Data-Dependent Jitter [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2004
An analysis for calculating data-dependent jitter (DDJ) in a first-order system is introduced. The predicted DDJ features unique threshold crossing times with self-similar geometry. An approximation for DDJ in second-order systems is described in terms of the damping factor and natural frequency.

ConDeTri--a content dependent read trimmer for Illumina data.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
UnlabelledDuring the last few years, DNA and RNA sequencing have started to play an increasingly important role in biological and medical applications, especially due to the greater amount of sequencing data yielded from the new sequencing machines and ...

Regression Analysis of Dependent Current Status Data with Left Truncation

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
Current status data are encountered in a wide range of applications, including tumorigenic experiments and demographic studies. In this case, each subject has one observation, and the only information obtained is whether the event of interest happened at

Data-Dependent Conditional Priors for Unsupervised Learning of Multimodal Data

open access: yesEntropy, 2020
One of the major shortcomings of variational autoencoders is the inability to produce generations from the individual modalities of data originating from mixture distributions.

Note on conditional mode estimation for functional dependent data

open access: yesStatistica, 2013
We consider α-mixing observations and deal with the estimation of the conditional mode of a scalar response variable Y given a random variable X taking values in a semi-metric space. We provide a convergence rate in Lp norm of the estimator.

Auxiliary Particle Filter for Prognostics and Health Management

open access: yesInternational Journal of Prognostics and Health Management, 2023
Accurately predicting the remaining useful life (RUL) of a system is a crucial factor in prognostics and health management (PHM). This paper introduces an auxiliary particle filter (APF) model, which has the advantages of dynamically updating the model ...
