Intersubjectivity as an antidote to stress: Using dyadic active inference model of intersubjectivity to predict the efficacy of parenting interventions in reducing stress—through the lens of dependent origination in Buddhist Madhyamaka philosophy [PDF]
Intersubjectivity refers to one person’s awareness in relation to another person’s awareness. It is key to well-being and human development. From infancy to adulthood, human interactions ceaselessly contribute to the flourishing or impairment of ...

Kamalaśīla’s Views on Dependent Origination
Abstract Directly or indirectly, by way of scriptural commentary or philosophical investigation, dependent origination ( pratītyasamutpāda ) plays an important role in several of Kamalaśīla’s works. His interpretation is remarkably consistent. As earlier “Yogācāra-Mādhyamika”

The evolution of the theory of dependent origination in sectarian Buddhism (部派佛教) follows two logical threads: one is the debate on the ontological nature of dharmas, which drove the shift towards a “non-substantiality” (Nairātmyavāda 無體論) interpretation

On the origin of divergences in time-dependent orbifolds [PDF]
AbstractWe consider time-dependent orbifolds in String Theory and we show that divergences are not associated with a gravitational backreaction since they appear in the open string sector too. They are related to the non existence of the underlying effective field theory as in several cases fourth and higher order contact terms do not exist.

Molecular Origin of Driving-Dependent Friction in Fluids
The friction coefficient of fluids may become a function of the velocity at increased external driving. This non-Newtonian behavior is of general theoretical interest as well as of great practical importance, e.g., for the design of lubricants. While the effect has been observed in large-scale atomistic simulations of bulk liquids, its theoretical ...

Thickness Dependence of Superconductivity in Layered Topological Superconductor β-PdBi2
We report a systematic study on the thickness-dependent superconductivity and transport properties in exfoliated layered topological superconductor β-PdBi2. The superconducting transition temperature Tc is found to decrease with the decreasing thickness.
