Realizing a variable isotropic depolarizer [PDF]
We demonstrate an isotropic depolarizing channel with a controllable degree of depolarization. The depolarizer is composed of four birefringent crystals and half-wave plates. Quantum process tomography results of the depolarization effect on single photons agree well with the theoretical prediction.

Depolarization and distributive laws [PDF]
Given a vector space with two multiplications, one commutative the other anticommutative, possibly connected by a distributive law, the depolarization principle allows to look at this triplet through a single nonassociative multiplication. This is the case of Poisson algebras.

Background: Patients suffering from Brugada syndrome (BrS) are at an increased risk of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias. Whilst electrocardiographic (ECG) variables have been used for risk stratification with varying degrees of success, automated

An accurate estimate of the ferroelectric polarization in ferroelectric-dielectric stacks is important from a materials science perspective, and it is also crucial for the development of ferroelectric based electron devices.

Kinetics deformation of current-voltage characteristics of the varistor oxide structures due to overcharging of the localized states [PDF]
Prolonged exposure of zinc oxide varistors to the electrical load leads to current-voltage characteristics (CVC) deformation, which is associated with a change in the height and width of the intergranular barriers, which are main structural element of ...

Depolarization of intense laser beams by dynamic plasma density gratings
As a typical plasma-based optical element that can sustain ultra-high light intensity, plasma density gratings driven by intense laser pulses have been extensively studied for wide applications. Here, we show that the plasma density grating driven by two

Bipartite depolarizing maps [PDF]
We introduce a 3-parameter class of maps (1) acting on a bipartite system which are a natural generalisation of the depolarizing channel (and include it as a special case). Then, we find the exact regions of the parameter space that alternatively determine a positive, completely positive, entanglement-breaking, or entanglement-annihilating map.
