Luminescence and Photochromism in Lanthanide‐Doped Hackmanites
Lanthanide‐doped lithium hackmanite derivatives are prepared utilizing a doped LiAlSiO4 precursor to modify luminescent and photochromic properties. Upon UV excitation, europium doping results in green Eu2+ persistent luminescence from shallow traps. Contrarily, samarium doping induces unusual near‐infrared photochromism.

Ion‐Pairing and Counterion Effects in Contemporary Photochemistry
Ion‐pairing and counterion effects have emerged as fundamental yet underexplored determinants of photochemical behavior. Far from inert, counterions, and Coulombic interactions modulate excited‐state dynamics, quenching efficiencies, emission, and catalytic pathways.

Using cafeteria‐style bait trials and GPS telemetry, we investigated scale‐dependent responses of invasive raccoons to baiting in a post‐nuclear‐disaster agricultural landscape in Fukushima, Japan. Baiting induced strong short‐term and daily‐scale attraction to trap sites but did not restructure long‐term space use, highlighting the need to balance ...

We examined the effect of fire frequency on the composition of vegetation of different biogeographic origins, to understand how frequently an ecosystem can be subject to fire but still retain its evolutionary diversity. There was dramatic structural and biogeographic change in less than 20 years from dry tropical woodlands into savannas, creating ...

Integrated Soil Salinisation Management Strategies in Agriculture
This review synthesises integrated water, agronomic, and biochemical strategies for managing soil salinisation, presenting a decision framework for selecting cost‐effective amendments based on initial soil assessment and long‐term sustainability monitoring. ABSTRACT Soil salinisation poses a global threat to agricultural sustainability, affecting about

Abstract Remote sensing studies show that ephemeral forest regeneration is widespread in the tropics, limiting the climate and biodiversity benefits from net increases in forest cover. Socioeconomic, biophysical and landscape variables can help explain the spatial distribution of reforestation reversals.
