Erosion-induced CO2 flux of small watersheds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Soil erosion not only results in severe ecological damage, but also interferes with soil organic carbon formation and decomposition, influencing the global green-house effect. However, there is controversy as to whether a typical small watershed presumed

Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

Research on Pd film deposition rate calculation and simulation based on TiZrV/Pd film coating experiment [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
The vacuum chamber of accelerator storage ring need clean ultra-high vacuum environment. TiZrV getter film which was deposited on interior wall of vacuum chamber, can realize distributed pumping, effectively improve the vacuum degree and reduce the longitudinal gradient.

Eighty years of food-web response to interannual variation in discharge recorded in river diatom frustules from an ocean sediment core. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Little is known about the importance of food-web processes as controls of river primary production due to the paucity of both long-term studies and of depositional environments which would allow retrospective fossil analysis.

Adjustable Plasmonic Core–Shell Nanoparticles for Personalized Color Vision Correction

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a personalized solution for correcting color vision deficiency (CVD) by embedding tunable core‐shell metal nanoparticles—a common nanotechnology—into contact lenses. By customizing the nanoparticles’ optical properties to filter specific wavelengths, these lenses address individual visual impairments, enhancing color ...

Geostatistical analysis of an experimental stratigraphy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
[1] A high-resolution stratigraphic image of a flume-generated deposit was scaled up to sedimentary basin dimensions where a natural log hydraulic conductivity (ln( K)) was assigned to each pixel on the basis of gray scale and conductivity end-members ...

Identifying environmental drivers of fungal non-pollen palynomorphs in the montane forest of the eastern Andean flank, Ecuador [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Samples taken from sedimentary archives indicate that fungal non-pollen palynomorphs (NPPs) can be used to provide information on forest cover, fire regime, and depositional environment in the eastern Andean flank montane forest of Ecuador. Within the 52

Effect of Acrylic Structural Adhesive as a Joint Reinforcement on Film Deformation during the Thermoforming Process for In‐Mold Electronic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In‐mold electronics (IME) enables the integration of circuits into more complex scenarios, yet the key challenge remains ensuring a fully functional device. This study investigates how the presence of structural adhesives can improve the performance and functionality of IME devices, addressing key challenges in device integration.
