Researchers' Well‐Being Through My Academic Career in Japan, Germany and USA
Abstract Upon development of my academic career in Japan, Germany, and USA, I have increasingly recognized the importance of researchers' well‐being. While the research lifestyles in these three countries were distinct, it has been essential for me to maintain good well‐being for the sustainable development of my academic career.

Decolonizing infant mental health: Black maternal mental health decision‐making
Abstract Over the last three decades (and maybe longer), studies have documented persistent race‐based maternal mental health disparities, whereas Black mothers are more likely to experience mental health concerns, and least likely to access formal mental health services due to structural racism and other social determinants.

Rapid Land Surface Uplift and Groundwater Recovery Observed During the Syrian War
Abstract Recent geopolitical upheaval in Syria is driving regional growth by returning populations, which increases demands on water resources. In northwest Syria, widespread cropland abandonment during the Syrian War starting in 2011 drastically changed the hydrological regime of the region.

Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) effects span central and peripheral organ systems through diverse mechanistic pathways. This comprehensive review provides a unified synthesis of these mechanisms across neurological, cardiovascular, immunological, metabolic, and gastrointestinal domains, filling a critical gap and serving as a foundational resource for ...

Defining joy after a genetic diagnosis: A narrative inquiry
Abstract Research on patient and family experiences often focuses on the challenges associated with receiving a genetic diagnosis, including feelings of uncertainty, grief, and emotional distress. Positive or encouraging aspects of the diagnostic journey are less well described. This study aimed to identify and describe ways in which patients and their

The Canadian Prairies is characterized by a cold, semiarid climate with topographical variations containing numerous depressions. These depressions play an important role in the hydrology of the prairie region by storing runoff water and replenishing groundwater through focused infiltration termed as depression-focused groundwater recharge.

Climate Change Impacts on Hydrology in the Upper James Watershed, Virginia
ABSTRACT Hydrological modeling of the Upper James Watershed (UJW), Virginia, is critical for predicting water availability, flood management, agriculture, ecosystem protection, and hydropower production under increasing climate change. The Hydrologic Engineering Center–Hydrologic Modeling System (HEC‐HMS) is applied to evaluate climate change impacts ...

Stable Isotope Record of Precipitation Dynamics in the Semi‐Arid Subtropics
Abstract Global climate change is profoundly affecting precipitation patterns worldwide, including the exacerbation of aridity in dryland regions. Here, we examined the variability in rainfall stable hydrogen and oxygen isotope compositions (δ18O and δ2H) at five locations in subtropical northwest Australia over 10 years (2015–2024) to better ...

Abstract The formation of tropical cyclones (TCs) remains a significant scientific challenge. Here, we demonstrate that robust quasi‐periodic behavior (QPB) emerges during TC genesis with idealized numerical simulations. The QPB is an internal mode of the TC precursor, whose underlying mechanism is a convectively coupled inertia‐gravity oscillation ...
