Onboard Detection and Localization of Drones Using Depth Maps

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Obstacle avoidance is a key feature for safe drone navigation. While solutions are already commercially available for static obstacle avoidance, systems enabling avoidance of dynamic objects, such as drones, are much harder to develop due to the ...

Sustained Therapeutic Efficacy of Intravenous Plasminogen Concentrate in Pediatric Patients With Type 1 Plasminogen Deficiency: An Analysis of Dosing Parameters and Clinical Outcomes

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Type 1 plasminogen deficiency (PLGD‐1) is an ultra‐rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by variants in the PLG gene and affects approximately 1.6 individuals per million. The condition is characterized by decreased plasminogen levels and impaired function, resulting in fibrin‐rich lesions on mucous membranes throughout the body.

Ironic Medications: A Narrative‐Based Psycho‐Educational Intervention to Explore Patient–Provider Communication in Adolescents With Haematological Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Adolescents with haematological malignancies face significant emotional and relational challenges, often accompanied by difficulties in communicating their needs within the healthcare context. To address these issues, a narrative‐based psycho‐educational intervention based on the creation and prescription of Ironic Medications was ...

Frequency–Geometry-Guided Network for Depth Map Super-Resolution

open access: yesSensors
Depth super-resolution reconstructs high-resolution (HR) depth maps from low-resolution (LR) inputs with the aid of HR RGB guidance, but RGB edges often do not coincide with true depth discontinuities, causing texture copying and degraded geometric ...

Transforming Monochromatic Images into 3D Holographic Stereograms Through Depth-Map Extraction

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Traditional holographic printing techniques prove inadequate when only input data are available. Therefore, this paper proposes a new artificial-intelligence-based process for generating digital holographic stereograms from a single black-and-white ...

Hand segmentation pipeline from depth map: an integrated approach of histogram threshold selection and shallow CNN classification

open access: yesConnection Science, 2020
We propose a new approach which is a three-stage pipeline to fast and accurate segment hand from a single depth image. Firstly, a depth frame is segmented into several regions by histogram-based thresholds selection algorithm and tracing the exterior ...
