End-to-end optimization of optics and image processing for achromatic extended depth of field and super-resolution imaging

ACM Transactions on Graphics, 2018
In typical cameras the optical system is designed first; once it is fixed, the parameters in the image processing algorithm are tuned to get good image reproduction.

Depth of field in light field rendering

Proceedings 2003 International Conference on Image Processing (Cat. No.03CH37429), 2004
This paper focuses on the sampling problem in light field rendering (LFR) that is a fundamental approach to image based rendering. Quality of LFR depends on a light ray database generated from pre-acquired images, since image synthesis is a process of gathering appropriate light ray data from the database.

Depth of Field for the Presbyope

American journal of optometry and physiological optic, 1981
Abstract As a general rule the near addition (add) for a presbyope is selected so that the range of clear vision is dioptrically and not linearly balanced. Implicit in such thinking is the assumption that the dioptric and linear range of clear vision cannot be simultaneously balanced.

Obtaining Exposure and Depth of Field: School Nurses “Seeing” Youth Vulnerability to Trafficking

Journal of Interpersonal Violence, 2019
Trafficking of youth is a growing phenomenon. How commercially exploited youth present in schools is multifaceted and poorly understood. Like other providers, school nurses are on the frontlines, yet can misunderstand youth who are commercially exploited.

Depth detection capability and ultra-large depth of field in imaging through a thin scattering layer

Journal of Optics, 2019
A wavelength-depth-matching method based on speckle correlation is proposed to achieve an ultra-large depth of field (DOF) of 90.5 mm experimentally on one side in imaging through a thin scattering layer.

Depth of Field/Depth of Understanding

Schools, 2010
Abstract The article is a personal account of my engagement with some recent neuroscientific theory put forth by Mary Helen Immordino‐Yang (University of Southern California) about the integral relationship between emotion and cognition. Specifically, the research suggests the necessity of engaging students on an emotional level in order to thoroughly ...

Large‐depth‐of‐field full‐field optical angiography

Journal of Biophotonics, 2019
A large‐depth‐of‐field full‐field optical angiography (LD‐FFOA) method is developed to expand the depth‐of‐field (DOF) using a contrast pyramid fusion algorithm (CPFA).

Depth of Field

Dialectical Anthropology, 2009
It is, of course, well known that if we focus a camera on an object at some definite distance from the camera lens, there will be a finite range of distances in front of and beyond the focused object in which everything appears acceptably in focus, while outside that range everything becomes progressively more blurred at increasing distances from the ...
