Welfare dynamics of minimum income recipients in Spain: A sequence analysis of employment and activation trajectories

open access: yesInternational Journal of Social Welfare, Volume 34, Issue 3, July 2025.
Abstract This paper sheds light on the trajectories of working‐age beneficiaries of means‐tested minimum income schemes (MIS) regarding employment, activation, and benefit receipt. For this purpose, we address two main questions: What types of trajectories can be identified in the MIS in terms of spell length, access to employment, and labor activation?

Impact of Seasonality on Climate Outcomes for Mid Latitude Marine Cloud Brightening

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 12, 28 June 2025.
Abstract Most previous studies on marine cloud brightening (MCB) have focused on deployment over the subtropical stratocumulus cloud decks which persistently result in non‐uniform cooling and disruption of the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO). A recent study demonstrated that MCB deployment over mid‐latitudes, instead, could alleviate such side ...

Fingerprints of AMOC Decline Are Sensitive to External and Mechanistic Forcing

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 12, 28 June 2025.
Abstract The Atlantic meridional overturning circulation (AMOC) plays a crucial role in past, present, and future climate, and there is substantial interest in using sea surface temperature (SST) as a fingerprint of past AMOC strength. Using a hierarchy of climate model ensembles, we find that the decline in AMOC, and its SST fingerprint within the ...

Climate Models Exaggerate the Enhanced Double‐ITCZ in the Warming Tropical Pacific Due To Preexisting Precipitation Bias

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 11, 16 June 2025.
Abstract Future greenhouse warming projections from the CMIP6 multi‐model ensemble indicate increased precipitation in the southeastern Pacific Ocean and a reduction in interhemispheric precipitation asymmetry, suggesting an enhanced double‐Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) in the tropical Pacific.
