Indole Derivatives Related to Lysergic Acid*,†

Journal of the American Pharmaceutical Association (Scientific ed.), 1951
Abstract Several new compounds related ro lysergic acid have been prepared and characterized. Four of these compounds are indole derivatives which have been prepared in quantities sdicient for pharmacological testing. Methods for the successful synthesis of the following are described: ethyl ester of 1-(3-indolylmethyl)guvacine.

Oxazolopyrimidine and thiazolopyrimidine derivatives related to the xanthines

Journal of the American Pharmaceutical Association (Scientific ed.), 1955
Abstract 2,6(1H,3H)‐Oxazolo[5.4‐d]pyrimidinedione and 2,6(1H,3H)‐thiazolo[5.4‐d]‐pyrimidinedione are xanthine analogs related to oxazolo [5.4‐d]pyrimidine and thiazolo [5.4‐d] pyrimidine in the same way that xanthine, 2,6(1H, 3H)‐7‐imidazo‐[4.5‐d]pyrimidinedione, is related to purine, 7‐imidazo[4.5‐d]pyrimidine.

The Derivation of Anaphoric Relations

2009
The Derivation of Anaphoric Relations resolves a conspicuous problem for Minimalist theory, the apparently representational nature of the binding conditions. Hicks adduces a broad variety of evidence against the binding conditions applying at LF and builds upon the insights of recent proposals by Hornstein ...

Deriving Focused Calculi for Transitive Relations

2001
We propose a new method for deriving focused ordered resolution calculi, exemplified by chaining calculi for transitive relations. Previously, inference rules were postulated and a posteriori verified in semantic completeness proofs. We derive them from the theory axioms. Completeness of our calculi then follows from correctness of this synthesis.
