Non‐Rigid 3D Shape Correspondences: From Foundations to Open Challenges and Opportunities

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Estimating correspondences between deformed shape instances is a long‐standing problem in computer graphics; numerous applications, from texture transfer to statistical modelling, rely on recovering an accurate correspondence map. Many methods have thus been proposed to tackle this challenging problem from varying perspectives, depending on ...

Logarithmic structures on topological K-theory spectra

open access: yes, 2013
We study a modified version of Rognes' logarithmic structures on structured ring spectra. In our setup, we obtain canonical logarithmic structures on connective K-theory spectra which approximate the respective periodic spectra.

Establishing Shape Correspondences: A Survey

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Shape correspondence between surfaces in 3D is a central problem in geometry processing, concerned with establishing meaningful relations between surfaces. While all correspondence problems share this goal, specific formulations can differ significantly: Downstream applications require certain properties that correspondences must satisfy ...

Skew $N$-Derivations on Semiprime Rings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
For a ring $R$ with an automorphism $\sigma$, an $n$-additive mapping $\Delta:R\times R\times... \times R \rightarrow R$ is called a skew $n$-derivation with respect to $\sigma$ if it is always a $\sigma$-derivation of $R$ for each argument.

Towers of MU-algebras and the generalized Hopkins-Miller theorem

open access: yes, 2002
Our results are of three types. First we describe a general procedure of adjoining polynomial variables to $A_\infty$-ring spectra whose coefficient rings satisfy certain restrictions.A host of examples of such spectra is provided by killing a regular ...

Aggregation and the Structure of Value

open access: yesNoûs, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Roughly, the view I call “Additivism” sums up value across time and people. Given some standard assumptions, I show that Additivism follows from two principles. The first says that how lives align in time cannot, in itself, matter. The second says, roughly, that a world cannot be better unless it is better within some period or another.

On Ideals and Commutativity of Prime Rings with Generalized Derivations

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics, 2018
An additive mapping F: R → R is called a generalized derivation on R if there exists a derivation d: R → R such that F(xy) = xF(y) + d(x)y holds for all x,y ∈ R. It is called a generalized (α,β)−derivation on R if there exists an (α,β)−derivation d: R → R such that the equation F(xy) = F(x)α(y)+β(x)d(y) holds for all x,y ∈ R. In the

The Mathematical History Behind the Granger–Johansen Representation Theorem

open access: yesOxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT When can a vector time series that is integrated once (i.e., becomes stationary after taking first differences) be described in error correction form? The answer to this is provided by the Granger–Johansen representation theorem. From a mathematical point of view, the theorem can be viewed as essentially a statement concerning the geometry of ...

Vagus Nerve Stimulation Paired With Tones Alters the Auditory Cortex Proteome in a Rat Model of Rett Syndrome

open access: yesDevelopmental Neurobiology, Volume 86, Issue 3, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Rett syndrome is a neurodevelopmental disorder caused by an X‐linked mutation of the MeCP2 gene. Individuals with Rett syndrome, as well as rodent models of this disorder, demonstrate abnormal cortical responses to sound, which impair auditory discrimination ability.

Vertex rings and their Pierce bundles

open access: yes, 2017
In part I we introduce vertex rings, which bear the same relation to vertex algebras (or VOAs) as commutative, associative rings do to commutative, associative algebras over the complex numbers.
