Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Adaptive Search Region Methods with Derivative Information in Computer Experiment
[[abstract]]Adaptive Search Region Method (ASRM), proposed by Lai (2008), is a surrogateassisted method for searching all local extremes of a response function in a bounded experimental region.

DERIVATIONS AND SKEW DERIVATIONS OF THE GRASSMANN ALGEBRAS [PDF]
Surprisingly, skew derivations rather than ordinary derivations are more basic (important) object in study of the Grassmann algebras. Let Λn = K ⌊x1, …, xn⌋ be the Grassmann algebra over a commutative ring K with ½ ∈ K, and δ be a skew K-derivation of Λn.

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Derivative usage by listed companies in Ghana and Nigeria - 2008/2009
This study seeks to establish if companies use derivatives and if so what kinds of derivatives. It does not seek to establish the reasons for derivative usage as is commonly done in Wharton Survey Style ...

Herein, we report four carbazole/1H-benzo[f]indole (Cz/Bd) derivatives with increasing Bd substitution (Bd number=0~3), which give a general mechanism for Bd-based ultralong organic phosphorescence.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Model uncertainty and its impact on the pricing of derivative instruments [PDF]
Model uncertainty, in the context of derivative pricing, can be defined as the uncertainty on the value of a contingent claim resulting from the lack of precise knowledge of the pricing model to be used for its valuation. We introduce here a quantitative
