Derivative-Extremum Analysis Principle for Irreversible Electrode Reactions: Feature Parameter Extractions from Polarization Curves [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
To ascertain the kinetic information of an irreversible electrode reaction, we extract two parameters of half-wave potential (E1/2) and peak value (PV) from the polarization curve through a derivative-extremum analysis.

Verification of the Necessity of the Tolyl Group of PF-543 for Sphingosine Kinase 1 Inhibitory Activity

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
PF-543, the most potent sphingosine kinase (SK) inhibitor, does not demonstrate effective anticancer activity in some cancer cells, unlike other known SK1 inhibitors.

FRACTIONAL DERIVATIVE AS FRACTIONAL POWER OF DERIVATIVE [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics, 2007
Definitions of fractional derivatives as fractional powers of derivative operators are suggested. The Taylor series and Fourier series are used to define fractional power of selfadjoint derivative operator. The Fourier integrals and Weyl quantization procedure are applied to derive the definition of fractional derivative operator.

Derivatives as security against market risk on the example of the selected companies

open access: yesCopernican Journal of Finance & Accounting, 2013
Company operating in current economic conditions are exposed to a series of different kinds of risk. In order to secure against some of them, firms may apply hedging, i.e. use of derivative instruments.

Derived Moduli of Complexes and Derived Grassmannians [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Categorical Structures, 2016
In the first part of this paper we construct a model structure for the category of filtered cochain complexes of modules over some commutative ring $R$ and explain how the classical Rees construction relates this to the usual projective model structure over cochain complexes.

Keeping risk alive

open access: yesRisk Sciences
Risk premia in markets rise with the degree of discontinuity in price motion. This discontinuity is measured by the scale and speed coefficients of price movements embedded in the bilateral gamma process, which is modeled as the difference of two ...
