Dhost theories as disformal gravity: from black holes to radiative spacetimes
This manuscript gathers and reviews part of our work focusing on the exploration of modified theories of gravity known as degenerate higher order scalar-tensor (DHOST) theories.

ABSTRACT This article presents the Multi‐Axial Subassemblage Testing facility of ETH Zurich, Switzerland (ETHZ‐MAST) for quasi‐static testing and hybrid simulation (HS) of large‐scale structural components and assemblies. The ETHZ‐MAST features a 6‐degrees‐of‐freedom (DOFs, 3 translations and 3 rotations) loading system based on a steel crosshead and ...

Stochastic homogenization on perforated domains II – Application to nonlinear elasticity models
Abstract Based on a recent work that exposed the lack of uniformly bounded W1,p→W1,p$W^{1,p}\rightarrow W^{1,p}$ extension operators on randomly perforated domains, we study stochastic homogenization of nonlinear p‐elasticity, 1

ABSTRACT This attempt examines the heat transfer enhancement from unsteady bioconvective Maxwell nanofluid flow under the incidence of solar radiation influenced by viscous dissipation and chemical reaction through a porous medium. The nanofluid contains silver and titanium alloy hybrid nanoparticles with gyrotactic micro‐organisms in ethylene glycol ...

Multi‐view subspace clustering with incomplete graph information
Abstract The core of multi‐view clustering is how to exploit the shared and specific information of multi‐view data properly. The data missing and incompleteness bring great challenges to multi‐view clustering. In this paper, we propose an innovative multi‐view subspace clustering method with incomplete graph information, so‐called incomplete multiple ...

Abstract A novel DC‐Excited Flux‐Switching Linear Motor (DC‐FSLM) is investigated in this paper, where a simple secondary is used as the machine stator. The phases and excitation windings are placed on the primary, which contributes to a low‐cost and simple structure linear motor with acceptable dynamic performance.

Analysis of image formation in optical palpation
Optical palpation is an emerging elastography technique that generates images of mechanical stress at the tissue surface, with applications in intraoperative cancer detection. Image formation is simulated using finite element analysis and validated with experiments on silicone phantoms, providing an analysis of trends in detectability, feature ...

Abstract The accurate prediction and simulation of thermal transients in district heating networks is essential for the meaningful analysis of combined heat and power systems. For this purpose, the focus of this paper lies on the development of a consistent and comprehensive modelling framework that links diverse pipe model categories to specific ...

Higher derived brackets, strong homotopy associative algebras and Loday pairs [PDF]
We give a quick method of constructing strong homotopy associative algebra, namely, the higher derived product construction. This method is associative analogue of classical higher derived bracket construction in the category of Loday algebras. We introduce a new type of algebra "Loday pair" which is noncommutative analogue of classical Leibniz pair ...
