Privacy-Enhanced Architecture for Occupancy-based HVAC Control [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
Large-scale sensing and actuation infrastructures have allowed buildings to achieve significant energy savings; at the same time, these technologies introduce significant privacy risks that must be addressed. In this paper, we present a framework for modeling the trade-off between improved control performance and increased privacy risks due to ...

Consensus on core domains for hand eczema trials: Signs, symptoms, control and quality of life

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
A core domain set for hand eczema was developed in an international consensus study with an online Delphi survey and a consensus meeting. Signs and symptoms of hand eczema, related quality of life and control over time should be measured in all future hand eczema therapeutic trials.

Inferring Skin-Brain-Skin Connections from Infodemiology Data using Dynamic Bayesian Networks [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports (2024), 14, 10266
The relationship between skin diseases and mental illnesses has been extensively studied using cross-sectional epidemiological data. Typically, such data can only measure association (rather than causation) and include only a subset of the diseases we may be interested in.

Weak convergence of stochastic integrals with respect to the state occupation measure of a Markov chain [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Our aim is to find sufficient conditions for weak convergence of stochastic integrals with respect to the state occupation measure of a Markov chain. First, we study properties of the state indicator function and the state occupation measure of a Markov chain.

Prevalence and Determinants of Sensitisation to Neomycin in North‐Eastern Italy, 1997–2021

open access: yesContact Dermatitis, Volume 92, Issue 6, Page 460-468, June 2025.
A decreasing prevalence of neomycin sensitisation was observed over time, likely reflecting containment of prescriptions and over‐the‐counter accessibility of latter antibiotic. Since allergic contact dermatitis caused by topical medications is easy to miss, comprehensive drug history and patch testing are essential against suspected sensitisation ...
