First report of Dermatophilus congolensis infection in native Omani cattle.

Skin lesions were reported in a group of quarantined Omani native cattle for exportation purpose during January 2018. The skin lesions were reported in 17 animals out of 140 and were scattered over the head, neck, back and perineal region of the animals.

ABSTRACT Isobutanol is a fusel alcohol that can be produced microbially for use as a biofuel or upgraded into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). A key enzyme in the isobutanol biosynthetic pathway is 2‐ketoacid decarboxylase (KDC), which irreversibly decarboxylates 2‐ketoisovalerate (KIV) to yield isobutyraldehyde.

Antimicrobial prescribing guidelines for horses in Australia

The growing problem of antimicrobial resistance also affects equine veterinarians with increasing frequency. Antimicrobial stewardship and responsible prescribing are essential for a future in which effective antimicrobials are available, as it is unlikely that new antimicrobials will become available for use in horses.
