Dermatophyte Antigen Kit

open access: yesThe Nishinihon Journal of Dermatology, 2017
The dermatophyte antigen kit uses monoclonal antibodies that react with polysaccharides present in the dermatophyte cell wall to detect dermatophyte antigens in specimens based on the principle of immunochromatography. Clinical studies showed that the kit was very useful in the diagnosis of tinea unguium but not tinea pedis.

Identification of dermatophytes by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this study we evaluated the suitability of matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) for the identification of dermatophytes in diagnostic laboratories.

Dermatophytes from Animals.

open access: yesNippon Ishinkin Gakkai Zasshi, 2000
Dermatophytes from animal dermatophytoses were investigated, especially for their teleomorphs and molecular characteristics. Microsporum canis, M. equinum, M. gypseum, M. nanum, Trichophyton equinum, T. mentagrophytes complex, T. rubrum and T. verrucosum were isolated as the etiological agents of animal ringworm in Japan.

Closely related dermatophyte species produce different patterns of secreted proteins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Dermatophytes are the most common infectious agents responsible for superficial mycosis in humans and animals. Various species in this group of fungi show overlapping characteristics.

Antifungal Susceptibility of Dermatophytes

open access: yesKasmera, 2006
There are no test standarizaded for the antifungal susceptibility of dermatophytes. The aim of this study is to probe the well diffusion technique as antifungal susceptibility test for dermatophites. One hundred species of dermatophytes were isolated and
