Embeddings of Ree unitals in a projective plane over a field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
We show that the Ree unital $\mathcal{R}(q)$ has an embedding in a projective plane over a field $F$ if and only if $q=3$ and $\mathbb{F}_8$ is a subfield of $F$. In this case, the embedding is unique up to projective linear transformations.

Veronese representation of projective Hjelmslev planes over some quadratic alternative algebras [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
We geometrically characterise the Veronese representations of ring projective planes over algebras which are analogues of the dual numbers, giving rise to projective Hjelmslev planes of level 2 coordinatised over quadratic alternative algebras.

The Class of Non-Desarguesian Projective Planes is Borel Complete [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
For every infinite graph $\Gamma$ we construct a non-Desarguesian projective plane $P^*_{\Gamma}$ of the same size as $\Gamma$ such that $Aut(\Gamma) \cong Aut(P^*_{\Gamma})$ and $\Gamma_1 \cong \Gamma_2$ iff $P^*_{\Gamma_1} \cong P^*_{\Gamma_2 ...

Fibered geometries [PDF]

open access: yes, 1929
Our aim is to initiate the study of fibered geometries, in particular fibered projective planes and fibered generalized polygons. In fact, we apply the theory of fuzzy sets in a particular way on incidence geometry.

Cosmology = topology/geometry: mathematical evidence for the Holographic Principle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In August 2015 NORDITA (Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics) hosted a conference where Hawking strongly supported the conjectured relationship between string theory and quantum fields that was initiated with the holographic principle some 20 years ...

Projective Rectangles

open access: yes, 2023
A projective rectangle is like a projective plane that has different lengths in two directions. We develop the basic theory of projective rectangles including incidence properties, projective subplanes, configuration counts, a partial Desargues's theorem,

Universal partial hyperfields of matroids and their prespaces of orderings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
We associate a partial hyperfield ⁽⁰⁾(M) with every matroid M by defining an addition on the elements of its inner Tutte group with an additional zero element such that M is representable over ⁽⁰⁾(M), and every representation of M over a partial ...
