Polystyrene plates were coated by atmospheric plasma polymerization of (3‐aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES). The coatings induced oxidative stress in Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria, which caused bacterial extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) overproduction for the first 2 days of incubation. The heterologous production of different plant flavanones, flavanonols and flavonols has been achieved in the Streptomyces albus bacteria, including several rare 2‐hydroxy flavonoids harboring unusual hemiacetal moieties, and sheds light in the potential bifunctional enzymatic activity for F3H hydroxylase.

Air pollution monitoring has recently become an issue of utmost importance in our society. Despite the fact that crowdsensing approaches could be an adequate solution for urban areas, they cannot be implemented in rural environments.
