Se describen e ilustran las características del desarrollo de huevos, larvas y alevines de Cichlasoma dovii, obtenidos por desove en laboratorio, de adultos capturados en el embalse Arenal, Costa Rica. El huevo tiene forma alargada con una longitud de 2.1 ± 0.5 mm y ancho de 1.6 ± 0.5 mm.
