Descemet-Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty

Cornea, 2006
Purpose: To evaluate the speed of visual recovery in 16 consecutive patients with corneal endothelial dysfunction who received Descemetstripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK). Methods: This is a retrospective study of a novel method for smallincision endothelial ...

Descemet's Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty

Optometry and Vision Science, 2008
ABSTRACT Taken together, causes of endothelial decompensation represent a major indication for corneal transplantation. Posterior lamellar grafts allow patients with endothelial failure to avoid many of the complications associated with the full thickness penetrating keratoplasty.

Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty After Failed Descemet Stripping Without Endothelial Keratoplasty

Cornea, 2017
Purpose: To describe the clinical course, surgical experience, and postoperative outcomes of 3 patients with Fuchs endothelial dystrophy who underwent Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) after failed Descemet stripping without endothelial keratoplasty.

Ultrathin Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty

Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 2019
Endothelial keratoplasty has evolved tremendously since its inception. Thick Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) grafts have made sway for slimmer ultrathin Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (UT-DSAEK). This review discusses the recent literature comparing outcomes of UT-DSAEK, DSAEK, and Descemet membrane ...

Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty in a child

Journal of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, 2008
We present the case of a 9-year-old patient with corneal decompensation that was treated with Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) and followed for 18 months. Although the procedure has been used successfully in adult populations, to our knowledge, this is the first report of DSAEK with long-term follow-up in a child.

Descemet's Stripping With Endothelial Keratoplasty in Iridocorneal Endothelial Syndrome

Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 2008
An interventional case is described to report on the clinical outcome of Descemet's stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty performed for iridocorneal endothelial syndrome. A Descemet's stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty was performed in the eye of a 53-year-old woman with decompensated cornea secondary to iridocorneal ...

Endothelial Keratoplasty: Fellow Eyes Comparison of Descemet Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty and Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty

Cornea, 2011
To evaluate patients' perspectives and outcomes of 2 different endothelial keratoplasty (EK) techniques performed in the fellow eyes of the same patients: Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) and Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK).In this fellow eye, comparative, retrospective case series, the records of 15 ...

Suture Technique for Descemet Stripping and Endothelial Keratoplasty

Cornea, 2007
To describe a suture technique for Descemet stripping and endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK).The technique was performed in 2 eyes of 2 patients with Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy. A double-armed 10-0 prolene suture on a CIF-4 needle was used to pull the donor corneal button into the recipient's anterior chamber without the use of forceps to hold ...

Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty for microcornea

Japanese Journal of Ophthalmology, 2012
Our aim was to evaluate the surgical technique and postoperative results of Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) for bullous keratopathy in eyes with microcornea. Two patients with microcornea (8.8 mm in case 1 and 9.3 mm in case 2) and bullous keratopathy after cataract surgery or after laser iridotomy were treated by DSAEK.

Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Clinical Outcomes of Descemet Membrane Endothelial Keratoplasty Versus Descemet Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty/Descemet Stripping Automated Endothelial Keratoplasty

Cornea, 2017
Purpose: To review and compare the published reports of Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) and Descemet stripping endothelial keratoplasty/Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK/DSAEK) procedures with regard to endothelial cell density/loss, best spectacle-corrected visual acuity, central ...
