PIEZO Force Sensing in Vascular Biology: An Explosion of New Knowledge, Concepts and Opportunity
Advanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 41, November 6, 2025.Knowledge of the remarkable mechanical force sensing and electrically transducing PIEZO1 and PIEZO2 channels is discussed across vascular biology and its cell types from the embryonic to adult stages in health, disease and old age. How the channels work, relate to other factors and signal for tissue responses to mechanical forces is debated.
