Legal and economic perspectives on fair and equitable benefit sharing in the Nagoya Protocol

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 39, Issue 2, April 2025.
Abstract Adopted in 2010 as a supplementary agreement to the 1992 Convention on Biological Diversity, the Nagoya Protocol (NP) mandates the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the use of genetic resources provided by Indigenous peoples. Member states must newly enact or amend domestic laws to align with the NP.

The scope of empowerment for conservation and communities

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 39, Issue 1, February 2025.
Abstract Conservationists increasingly position conservation that is mutually beneficial to people and biodiversity on the promise of empowerment of people through participatory discourse, metrics, processes, and outcomes. Empowerment represents multidimensional concepts and theories that permeate the interlinking levels of power, from the ...

Descubrimiento del hipotiroidismo

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Endocrinología, Diabetes & Metabolismo, 2017
Fragmento.

A General Bipenalty Formulation for Explicit Contact‐Impact Analysis With a Parameter Selection Criterion

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, Volume 126, Issue 1, 15 January 2025.
ABSTRACT A general bipenalty formulation with a parameter selection criterion is proposed for explicit contact‐impact finite element analysis. In order to model the contact phenomenon using penalties, it is necessary to introduce an artificial contact stiffness that can increase the maximum natural frequency of the system.

Beyond 4 × 4: Paramotoring a novel approach to accelerate plant exploration in challenging environments

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, Volume 7, Issue 1, Page 87-104, January 2025.
Addressing the burning environmental crisis, we explore how the ‘extreme sport’ of paramotoring can enhance and accelerate scientific exploration with minimal environmental impact compared to off‐road vehicles. Our study demonstrates the scientific potential of paramotoring to access fragile desert ecosystems and investigate unrecorded habitats and ...

Time Interleaving in the Analogue Circuitry of Oversampled Digital‐to‐Analogue Converters: Proof of Concept

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
Time interleaving techniques allow parallel structures to operate at reduced speeds. This work investigates the feasibility of employing a parallel array of low‐speed DACs. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach exhibits the characteristics required for high‐frequency transmitter applications ABSTRACT Digital‐to‐analog converters ...
