14‐3‐3σ up‐regulation in the temporal cortex associates with tau pathology and reactive astroglia in Lewy body disorders
Brain Pathology, EarlyView.14‐3‐3 protein homeostasis is disrupted in Lewy body pathology, showing a diminution of six isotypes and overexpression of stratifin. The latter was associated with stratifin colocalization with tau pathology and reactive astrocytes. Platelets, as a peripheral biomarker source, mirrored inversely cortical 14‐3‐3 gene expression patterns in dementia ...Laura Marsal‐García, Jorge Mena, Carol‐Ann Lao, David Adamuz, Laura Arnaldo, Cristina Carrato, Alex Menendez, Daniela Samaniego, Dolores Vilas, Lourdes Ispierto, Anna Planas, Ramiro Alvarez, Pau Pastor, Katrin Beyer +13 morewiley +1 more sourceAdvancing Wildlife Conservation Through Biobanking in South America. Brain Pathology, EarlyView. We developed a rapid AAV‐based system to generate prion disease models in weeks rather than months. Following systemic AAV9P31 delivery of modified PrP to knockout mice, we achieved brain‐wide expression and successful propagation of both classical (RML) and atypical (GSS‐A117V) prion strains.Maitena San‐Juan‐Ansoleaga, Eva Fernández‐Muñoz, Jorge M. Brain Pathology, EarlyView.A single amino acid change (L108I) combined with PrP overexpression drives spontaneous atypical prion formation in mice, enabling also efficient propagation of diverse prion strains. This model allows studying how spontaneous prion diseases arise and provides powerful tools for investigating strain emergence, transmission barriers, and mechanisms ...Hasier Eraña, Enric Vidal, Natalia Fernández‐Borges, Jorge M. British Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView. Background and Purpose
Human adenovirus (HAdV) causes respiratory or gastrointestinal tract infections depending on the virus subtype. While HAdV infections are generally self‐limiting in immunocompetent people, they can result in significant morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised adults and children.Mohamed Zamzamy, Sophie Post, Wing Hang Ip, Elin Hahlin, Sebastian Kühn, Andrea Pirosu, Christian Conze, Martin Baumdick, Hamburg Intestinal Study Group, Madeleine J. British Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView. Background and purpose
Opioids targeting the μ opioid receptor remain largely ineffective in neuropathic pain conditions, emphasizing the need for novel therapeutic strategies. MP135 was reported to reduce thermal nociception in naive animals by activating μ‐δ opioid receptor heteromers.Perrine Inquimbert, Chantal Fitterer, Sylvain Hugel, Mila Jesic, Yannick Goumon, Virgine Andry, Severine Schneider, Francois Daubeuf, Abdelfattah Faouzi, Stephane Doridot, Susruta Majumdar, Frederic Bihel, Martine Schmitt, Dominique Massotte +13 morewiley +1 more sourceMapping the density of giant trees in the Amazon.
