Modular Clustering of UAV Launch System Architecture Based on HDDSM
Rapid launch is one of the key indicators of UAV swarm operations, and one of the key decisions that determines the ultimate success of launch system development is the choice of its product architecture.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

A Structured Systems Approach for Optimal Actuator-Sensor Placement in Linear Time-Invariant Systems
In this paper we address the actuator/sensor allocation problem for linear time invariant (LTI) systems. Given the structure of an autonomous linear dynamical system, the goal is to design the structure of the input matrix (commonly denoted by $B$) such ...

Manifestation of photonic band structure in small clusters of spherical particles [PDF]
We study the formation of the photonic band structure in small clusters of dielectric spheres. The first signs of the band structure, an attribute of an infinite crystal, can appear for clusters of 5 particles.

On factorization of a subclass of 2-D digital FIR lossless matricesfor 2-D QMF bank applications [PDF]
The role of one-dimensional (1-D) digital finite impulse response (FIR) lossless matrices in the design of FIR perfect reconstruction quadrature mirror filter (QMF) banks has been explored previously.
