IAR‐Net: Tabular Deep Learning Model for Interventionalist's Action Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study presents IAR‐Net, a deep‐learning framework for catheterization action recognition. To ensure optimality, this study quantifies interoperator similarities and differences using statistical tests, evaluates the distribution fidelity of synthetic data produced by six generative models, and benchmarks multiple deep‐learning models.

LuxAR: A Direct Manipulation Projected Display to Extend and Augment Desktop Computing

open access: yesGraphics Interface
We prototype and evaluate a desktop input and output device in the form of an architect desk lamp. The bulb is replaced with a pico laser projector, a button replaces the switch, and the mechanical design allows it to remain in position between user manipulations.By also tracking lamp position and orientation, we explore novel interaction techniques to

Hierarchical Language Models for Semantic Navigation and Manipulation in an Aerial‐Ground Robotic System

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A hierarchical multimodal framework coupling a large language model for task decomposition and semantic mapping with a fine‐tuned vision‐language model for semantic perception, enhanced by GridMask, is presented. An aerial‐ground robot team exploits the semantic map for global and local planning.

A Novel Contact‐Implicit Trajectory Optimization Framework for Quadruped Locomotion without Fixed Contact Sequences

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Legged robots have advanced in environmental interaction through contact, but most works rely on fixed contact sequences. This work presents a new method based on an indirect optimization method for legged robots to automatically generate contact sequences for complex movements.
