Abstract Background Desmoplastic fibroblastoma (collagenous fibroma) is a rare soft tissue tumor that usually arises in the subcutis or skeletal muscle. Cases superficial to fascia are unusual and can cause diagnostic difficulty. We present 11 cases of superficial desmoplastic fibroblastoma involving a wide anatomic distribution.
