Enhanced Saturation Coverages in Adsorption-Desorption Processes

open access: yes, 1999
Many experimental studies of protein deposition on solid surfaces involve alternating adsorption/desorption steps. In this paper, we investigate the effect of a desorption step (separating two adsorption steps) on the kinetics, the adsorbed-layer ...

Surface Diffusion in SnTe‐PbTe Monolayer Lateral Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The lateral heterostructures between 2D materials often suffer from the interdiffusion at the interfaces. Here, a surface diffusion mechanism is found to be dominating at the interfaces between semiconducting SnTe and PbTe monolayers. Atomically sharp interfaces can be achieved by suppressing this diffusion process. ABSTRACT The construction of complex

Characteristics of phosphate sorption and sorbed-P release in paddy soils

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2010
Characteristics of phosphate sorption and sorbed-P release in paddy soils were studied using adsorption isotherm and ion exchange resin method. The results show that phosphate adsorption isotherm of 20 rice soils of Jinhua City of Zhejiang Province ...

Gas adsorption/desorption in silica aerogels: a theoretical study of scattering properties

open access: yes, 2005
We present a numerical study of the structural correlations associated to gas adsorption/desorption in silica aerogels in order to provide a theoretical interpretation of scattering experiments. Following our earlier work, we use a coarse-grained lattice-

Suppression of Photo‐Mediated Traps in Integrated Organic Photovoltaic–Photodetector Devices via N‐Type Self‐Assembly‐Driven Interfacial Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conventional unstable electron transport layers (ETLs) limit self‐powered organic sensors. This work resolves this by developing a n‐type self‐assembled monolayer (SAM), “3‐PAPh”. This SAM forms a chemically stable and structurally ordered interface that fundamentally suppresses defect formation.

Heteroatom‐Engineering Promoted Co9S8 Bi‐functional Electrocatalyst for Hydrazine‐Assisted Hydrogen Production at Industrial Current Density

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fe and P co‐doped Co9S8 nanocorals (Fe, P‐Co9S8) are successfully synthesized by a heteroatom engineering strategy, which exhibit outstanding bifunctional electrocatalytic performance for both the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and hydrazine oxidation reaction (HzOR).

Assessment of Feasibility of Sintered Fly Ash Lightweight Aggregate as an Effective Self-Curing Additive for Sustainable Concreting Practice [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Effective curing is an essential requirement for a desired long-term performance of concrete. For 1 cubic metre of hardened concrete, 3 cubic metre of water is required; most of which is consumed for curing, thereby leading to an unsustainable practice ...

Laser‐Welded Cellulose‐Carbon Nanotube Nanocomposites as a 3D Scaffold of Si Anodes for High‐Performance Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Si anode comprising entangled networks of cellulose and SWCNT (C‐CNT) nanocomposites as an anode electrode for a high‐performance LIB is realized by fully utilizing the generated microstructure of a novel conductive 3D scaffold via a low‐temperature and eco‐friendly process. Additionally, localized heating via photo‐thermal conversion can be utilized

Desorption kinetics and interaction of Xe with single-wall carbon nanotube bundles

open access: yes, 2002
We present a study on the kinetics of xenon desorption from single-wall carbon nanotube (SWNT) bundles using thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS). TD-spectra from SWNT samples show a broad desorption feature peaked at significantly higher temperature ...

Characterization of Coal Particle Methane Desorption and Optimization of Desorption Model Based on Desorption Damage

open access: yesACS Omega
In view of the current situation where most studies on gas desorption characteristics are limited to the atmospheric pressure desorption environment, we have independently developed a coal methane desorption instrument to test the nonatmospheric pressure desorption characteristics for coal particle gas beneath the condition of desorption damage.
