Desorption times in flash desorption and isothermal desorption experiments
Chemical Physics Letters, 1979Abstract Setting up the appropriate initial value problems in a non-equilibrium quantum-statistical theory of desorption we calculate and correlate isothermal and flash desorption times and show that, though different, they are of the same order over reasonable temperatures. Predictions for the He/constantan and He/LiF systems are given.

Soft cluster-induced desorption/ionization of polystyrene oligomers was investigated with respect to application in mass spectrometry. Clear peak progressions corresponding to intact polystyrene molecules were observed in the mass spectra, and no fragmentation was detected; efficient desorption was deduced from quartz crystal microbalance measurements.

Spray desorption collection (SDC) and reflective electrospray ionization (RESI) were used to independently study the desorption and ionization processes that together comprise desorption electrospray ionization (DESI). Both processes depend on several instrumental parameters, including the nebulizing gas flow rate, applied potential, and source ...

Desorption and Ionization Mechanisms in Desorption Atmospheric Pressure Photoionization
Analytical Chemistry, 2008The factors influencing desorption and ionization in newly developed desorption atmospheric pressure photoionization-mass spectrometry (DAPPI-MS) were studied. Redirecting the DAPPI spray was observed to further improve the versatility of the technique: for dilute samples, parallel spray with increased analyte signal was found to be the best suited ...

Instability of desorption mode in laser-stimulated desorption
Physica B+C, 1986Abstract A theoretical model of IR laser-induced desorption is developed. An analysis of experimental data shows that this desorption may have a collective character. Such collective character may be the result of so-called resonant or indirect heating. It is shown that this mechanism is not a very efficient one.

Intraparticle Sorption and Desorption of Antibiotics
Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2023Intraparticle domains are the critical locations for storing contaminants and retarding contaminant transport in subsurface environments. While the kinetics and extent of antibiotics sorption and desorption in subsurface materials have been extensively studied, their behaviors in intraparticle domains have not been well understood.

Directed desorption as a probe of the structure of the desorption site
Surface Science Letters, 1982Abstract This paper attempts to assess the effects of surface structure on the angular variation of the desorption flux. Quantum calculations are done which show that if the gas-surface interaction potential is sufficiently corrugated in the neighborhood of the desorption site, and the adsorbate molecules desorb without going through a mobile ...

Azimsulfuron Sorption−Desorption on Soil
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2004The sorption and desorption of the herbicide azimsulfuron, N-[[(4-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)amino]carbonyl]1-methyl-4-(2-methyl-2H-tetrazole-5-yl)1H-pyrazole-5-sulfonamide, were studied using five soils. Sorption isotherms conformed to the Freundlich equation. It was found that pH is the main factor influencing the sorption and that the sorption on soils
