Adsorption/Desorption on Macroporous Resins of Okicamelliaside in the Extract of Camellia nitidissima Chi Leaves

open access: yesHorticulturae, 2023
Okicamelliaside (OCS) from Camellia nitidissima Chi (C. nitidissima) leaves can be used in therapeutic drugs or nutritional foods. However, which resin is the best for separating OCS and the underlying mechanism for its superiority remains unclear.

Selective Benzene Capture by Metal‐Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) hold significant potential for capturing benzene from air emissions and hydrocarbon mixtures in liquid phases. This capability stems from their precisely engineered structures, versatile chemistries, and diverse binding interactions.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Light-Induced Atomic Desorption for loading a Sodium Magneto-Optical Trap

open access: yes, 2010
We report studies of photon-stimulated desorption (PSD), also known as light-induced atomic desorption(LIAD), of sodium atoms from a vacuum cell glass surface used for loading a magneto-optical trap (MOT).

Modeling desorption kinetics of a persistent organic pollutant from field aged sediment using a bi-disperse particle size distribution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Purpose With the predicted climate change, it is expected that the chances of river flooding increase. During flood events, sediments will resuspend and when sediments are polluted, contaminants can be transferred to the surrounding water.

Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Investigation into moisture desorption in concrete constructions

open access: yesEngineering Structures and Technologies, 2011
The article investigates the moisture desorption of concrete constructions. Three concrete mixtures with different V/C ratio were tested. In one of the mixtures, a plasticizer was used. The test revealed changes in bulk humidity and weight.

Experiments on Quantum and Thermal Desorption from ^4He Films [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
Desorption of He atoms from thin films may be resolved experimentally into quantum and thermal components. We show that quantum desorption becomes the dominant part of the signal in submonolayer films.

Classification of Light-Induced Desorption of Alkali Atoms in Glass Cells Used in Atomic Physics Experiments

open access: yes, 2006
We attempt to provide physical interpretations of light-induced desorption phenomena that have recently been observed for alkali atoms on glass surfaces of alkali vapor cells used in atomic physics experiments.

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron
