Fabrication of oxygen-defective tungsten oxide nanorods for deep oxidative desulfurization of fuel
Owing to the increasingly serious environmental issues caused by the sulfur burnt in fuel, desulfurization has become an important topic. In this work, an amphiphilic oxygen-defective tungsten oxide was synthesized by a colloidal chemistry method.

ABSTRACT In the hydrogen production routes from natural gas (methane), methane pyrolysis offers a cleaner option than the established steam methane reforming by producing CO2‐free hydrogen. However, in fixed bed reactors over solid catalysts, this technology experiences rapid catalyst deactivation due to carbon (coke) deposition encapsulating its ...

Substrate‐Selective Temperature‐Controlled Synthesis of Thiophene Derivatives at Interfaces
The deposition of a dithiophene derivative on Ag(111) at room temperature followed by annealing gives rise to molecular wires, whereas the adsorption of the same precursor on a hot substrate affords the formation of benzotrithiophene species. Abstract The temperature‐controlled transformation of organic molecules at interfaces is an incipient yet ...

Reductive Desulfurization of Dibenzyldisulfide [PDF]
Dibenzyldisulfide was reductively degraded by a methanogenic mixed culture derived from a sewage digestor. Toluene was produced with benzyl mercaptan as an intermediate in sulfur-limited medium. Toluene production was strictly associated with biological activity; however, the reducing agent for the culture medium, Ti(III), was partially responsible for

Utilization of Waste Materials Using the Müller–Kühne Process—A Life Cycle Inventory Study
This study presents a Life Cycle Inventory of the Müller–Kühne process (MKP), which converts gypsum waste into sulfuric acid and cement clinker. The MKP outperforms conventional cement production regarding material yield, though its specific energy demand is higher. Consequently, potentials for circular gypsum waste utilization are discussed.
