In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

An All-solid-state Cd2+-selective electrode with a low detection limit

open access: yesSensors and Actuators B: Chemical, 2011
A new all-solid-state Cd2+-selective electrode with a low detection limit was prepared by using conjugated thiophene oligomer alpha-sexithiophene (alpha-6T) as solid contact deposited between an ionophore-doped poly(vinyl chloride) membrane and a gold ...

The detection limit

Environmental Science & Technology, 1988

Limiting Factors for the Detection of Orientation

Perception, 1998
First steps of visual-information processing in primates are characterised by a highly ordered representation of the outside world on the cortex. Two prominent features of cortical organisation are the retinotopic mapping of position in the visual field on the first stages of the visual stream, and the systematic variation of orientation preference in ...

Limits for the Detection of Binaural Beats

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1969
This study investigates the probability of detecting binaural beats as a function of the frequency of the standard signal used (f1) and of the dichotic frequency difference (|f1−f2|). The present findings indicate that the upper frequency limit for the perception of binaural beats depends upon the dichotic frequency differences employed, the ...

Detection Limits for Nanoscale Biosensors

Nano Letters, 2005
We examine through analytical calculations and finite element simulations how the detection efficiency of disk and wire-like biosensors in unmixed fluids varies with size from the micrometer to nanometer scales. Specifically, we determine the total flux of DNA-like analyte molecules on a sensor as a function of time and flow rate for a sensor ...

On the Limitation of Linear MMSE Detection

IEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2006
This correspondence highlights the performance limitation of linear minimum mean-squared error (mmse) detection in underdetermined vector Gaussian channels (as in overloaded code-division multiple-access (CDMA) systems) where the number of symbols (users) exceeds the signal space dimension (spread factor). It is shown that for such a simple receiver it

Shape detection with limited memory

Pattern Recognition, 1991
Abstract A new approach to shape detection through the generalized Hough transform is introduced. The method is based on a limited memory implementation of the transform, that reduces its cost and makes it suitable for hardware implementation.
