The PADME detector

Physica Scripta, 2021
To search for the production of a dark photon (A') in the process e+e- → A'γ, the PADME apparatus has been built at the INFN Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati. It is a small-scale detector consisting of an active target, a beam monitor system, a spectrometer to measure charged particle momenta in the range 50-400 MeV, a dipole magnet to deflect the ...

The Virgo Detector

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2005
The Virgo Experiment is a gravitational wave interferometric detector. It consists in a Michelson interferometer with two 3 km long Fabry‐Perot cavities as orthogonal arms. The installation of the detector has been completed in September 2003 and presently the apparatus is under commissioning.

Legri Operations. Detectors and Detector Stability

Astrophysics and Space Science, 2001
Two years after launch (04.21.97), LEGRI is operating on Minisat-01 in a LEO orbit. The LEGRI detector plane is formed by two type of gamma-ray solid state detectors: HgI2 and CdZnTe. Detectors are embedded in a box containing the FEE and DFE electronics. This box provides an effective detector passive shielding.

Radiation detectors†

1980
Publisher Summary This chapter describes the important features of a few popular types of detectors. Most of them are based on the ionization produced by radiation, with the resulting currents passing through an electrical circuit and displayed on a meter or similar indicator.

On Conversion Detectors

Proceedings of the IRE, 1934
Conversion detectors for superheterodyne sets are classified in two groups, containing two types each. These types are illustrated in Figs. 1(a), 1(b), 2(a), 2(b), 2(c), 2(d), and 2(e). It has been found possible to represent measured static characteristics (current versus applied voltage) of all types of detectors considered accurately by an equation ...

Detectors and experiments

International Journal of Modern Physics A, 2016
The talks in the Program and the Conference parallel sessions make clear that high quality pixel vertex chambers are presently well developed and with continuing improvements (M. Caccia,1 X. Sun,2 M. Stanitzki,3 J. Qian4); that there are at least two major tracking chambers that are well studied, a TPC and silicon-strip chambers (H.
