Properties of Frequency Difference Detectors
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1985Among other applications, frequency-tracking loops are employed in digital-data receivers, either as a frequency-acquisition aid for phase-locked coherent reception, or as the sole carrier-frequency control for noncoherent reception. This article provides details of design and performance of the frequency-difference detector that lies at the heart of ...

Properties of BGO and BaF2 detectors
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1986Abstract Time and energy response of large BGO and BaF 2 crystals to intermediate energy ions was measured. The timing properties of BaF 2 are close to that of a fast plastic scintillator.

Dynamic properties of ultraviolet sensitive detectors
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 2004Abstract The dynamic properties of ultraviolet detectors, the spectral sensitivity of which can be adjusted from a wide UV to a selective UV-B range by applying a semi-transparent Ag front contact, were studied. The investigations of ultra thin n–i–p layer sequences based on hydrogenated amorphous silicon and its alloys is of growing interest since ...

Properties of Thermistor Infrared Detectors
Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1953Thermistor bolometers are fast, sensitive infrared detectors with good responsivity from 1 to 15 microns. The detectors consist of a thin flake of thermistor material mounted on a thermal sink. The time constant of the detectors is determined by the type of thermal sink on which the flakes are mounted.

Fundamental Properties of Superheated Drop (Bubble) Detectors
Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 1999Superheated drop detectors and bubble damage detectors find increasing applications in ionising radiation dosimetry and spectrometry. These emulsions of overexpanded halocarbon droplets can be manufactured to respond selectively to densely ionising particles, such as neutron recoils, or to all directly and indirectly ionising radiations.

Timing properties of coaxial HPGe detectors
Nuclear Instruments and Methods, 1978Abstract The dependence of the timing characteristics of a true coaxial HPGe detector on bias has been determined. Optimum performance of 2.0 ns fwhm and 4.25 ns fwtm was obtained at a bias just above the depletion voltage. The general variation of timing characteristics is compared with the results of a model of the pulse generation process in the ...

Dosimetric properties of sintered TL detectors
Radiation Measurements, 2001Abstract Selected dosimetric properties of sintered LiF : Mg , Cu , Na , Si detectors were studied. Solid LiF : Mg , Cu , Na , Si pellets of diameters 4.5 mm and thickness 0.9 mm , dark blue in colour, were obtained by cold pressing and sintering the powder at 820°C.

Internal absorption properties of accelerating detectors
Annals of Physics, 1964Abstract The existence of electromagnetic radiation from a uniformly accelerated charge has appeared in some recent work to present a problem suggesting the inadequency of the equivalence principle. For a proper treatment of the problem, it is desirable to show how the absorption properties of detectors are effected by being physically attached to ...
