Tuning properties of the auditory frequency-shift detectors

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2009
Demany and Ramos [(2005). J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 117, 833–841] found that it is possible to hear an upward or downward pitch change between two successive pure tones differing in frequency even when the first tone is informationally masked by other tones, preventing a conscious perception of its pitch. This provides evidence for the existence of automatic

Charge Collecting Properties of Proton Irradiated CdTe Detectors

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2007
We have investigated the effects of proton irradiation on the charge collecting properties of planar CdTe detectors. The spatial distribution of the charge collection and of the electric field inside the material has been studied by photocurrent spectroscopy and surface potential analyses.

Si(Li) Detector Lineshapes: Contributions from Atomic Physics and Detector Properties

X-Ray Spectrometry, 1997
The detailed response of an Si(Li) detector to the manganese K x-rays from a 55 Fe source was studied by least-squares fitting various spectrum models using a generalized variant of the GUPIX code. The peak-to-background ratio (>10 6 ) observed for the manganese Kα x-rays is superior in the detector used here to that observed in a crystal spectrometer,

Properties of feature detectors for VOT

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1976
Certain properties of a feature detector system sensitive to VOT were investigated with a binaural adaptation-dichotic testing paradigm. On each dichotic test trial, a nonboundary voiced stop was paired with one of a set of voiceless stops. The voiceless stops varied in VOT, from values close to the phonetic boundary to values well within the voiceless

DETECTOR PROPERTIES OF PHOTON-MODULATED TUNNELING

Applied Physics Letters, 1967
The use of photon-modulated tunneling for photodetection is demonstrated in a structure of Te–Al2O3–Al. Compared with the response of the Te alone, measured in situ, the tunnel-barrier device is much faster; the detectivity and the spectral response are similar.
