Reduction of detent force in permanent magnet linear synchronous motor with double secondary side
2014 17th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2014In view of that detent force (DF) has great influence on thrust force ripple of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM), magnet-shifting method is introduced to suppress DF and its spatial harmonic. A double-sided PMLSM model is chosen as the object of research, finite element method (FEM) is adopted to build PMLSM model and Fourier transform

This paper presents optimum design of transverse flux linear motor(TFLM) for household electric refrigerator. We use a characteristic function, table of orthogonal array and three-dimensional equivalent magnetic circuit network (EMCN) method to explain correlations between the objective function and design variables, maximize thrust force and minimize ...

Linear permanent magnet vernier machines (LPMVMs) have attracted more and more attention last several years due to its high thrust density at low speed, which is very suitable for the direct-drive applications. In this paper, the dual-side toroidal-winding LPMVM with unequal end-teeth width is proposed for the reduction of the detent force and thrust ...

This paper proposes two different techniques to reduce detent force in flat permanent magnet linear synchronous motors (PMLSM). The first one is the choice of an optimal constructive design, taking into account the width and arrangement of the magnets, and the length and shape of the solid iron core.

In order to meet industrial safety standards in eccentric presses, the detent force of the acting high force tubular permanent magnet linear synchronous machines (PMLSM) should be reduced. The detent force is caused by two components: the slot effect and the end effect.

This paper proposes a novel detent force reduction method for subway applications, in which four primary permanent magnet liner motors (PMLMs) are employed in traction system. The detent force of the traction system is influenced by space distance between movers. The detent force can be reduced twice by setting optimal space distances.

This paper reports the methodological approaches to detent force reduction in the steel-cored Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor (PMLSM). For the detail investigations and overviews on the detent force, analytic solutions considering the various reluctances in the air-gap were obtained using the Space Harmonic Method. The validity of this method

A novel configuration for reducing end-effect detent force for a high thrust transverse flux linear synchronous motor is presented. The method is based on principle of destructive superposition of harmonic orders in detent force waveform. It is achieved by splitting a linear motor, with a high slot-pole combination into three separate sections ...

The detent force of a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) consists of cogging and drag forces, and should be minimized for high precision purpose application. This paper suggests a new 9-pole 10-slot structure of a short primary PMLSM to remove the cogging force.
