PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Multiple gcd-closed sets and determinants of matrices associated with arithmetic functions

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2016
Let f be an arithmetic function and S= {x1, …, xn} be a set of n distinct positive integers. By (f(xi, xj)) (resp. (f[xi, xj])) we denote the n × n matrix having f evaluated at the greatest common divisor (xi, xj) (resp. the least common multiple [xi, xj]

Inner Language Form as a Determinant of its Lexical Peculiarity (based on the Study Material of the Russian and the Teleut Languages Paroemia)

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Language Studies, Semiotics and Semantics, 2019
In the present article we make an effort to develop the ideas of the Russian linguist G.P. Melnikov about the determinants of the language system in the context of his study about the dynamic language nature.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Determinants and Inverses of Ppoeplitz and Ppankel matrices

open access: yesSpecial Matrices, 2018
In this paper, we consider two kinds of special matrices, which are called Ppoeplitz matrix and Ppankel matrix. The idea of matrix transformation is used to compute the determinants and inverses of the Ppoeplitz matrix and the Ppankel matrix.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

The coherence between PSMC6 and α-ring in the 26S proteasome is associated with Alzheimer’s disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Neuroscience
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a heterogeneous age-dependent neurodegenerative disorder. Its hallmarks involve abnormal proteostasis, which triggers proteotoxicity and induces neuronal dysfunction.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Determinant Theory of Quadri-Partitioned Neutrosophic Fuzzy Matrices and its Application to Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Problems [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems
We propose a refined method to compute the determinant of matrices with a higher number of rows and columns. Furthermore, an algorithm is developed to address decision-making problems based on QPNFMs.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
