Exact form factors for the Josephson tunneling current and relative particle number fluctuations in a model of two coupled Bose-Einstein condensates

open access: yes, 2002
Form factors are derived for a model describing the coherent Josephson tunneling between two coupled Bose-Einstein condensates. This is achieved by studying the exact solution of the model in the framework of the algebraic Bethe ansatz.

Feasibility and Safety of High‐Dose Proton Re‐Irradiation in Recurrent Pediatric Central Nervous System Tumors: A Single‐Institution Retrospective Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Pediatric central nervous system (CNS) tumors often recur despite multimodality therapy. Although re‐irradiation (re‐RT) has historically been limited by concerns for severe late toxicities, modern techniques have renewed interest in this approach. Proton therapy provides dosimetric advantages that may enable curative re‐treatment with

Defining Roles in Pediatric Palliative Care: Perspectives From Oncology and Palliative Care Teams

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Early integration of pediatric palliative care (PPC) is associated with improved symptom management, quality of life, and healthcare utilization for children with cancer. Despite this, variation persists in how PPC is understood, operationalized, and integrated within pediatric oncology programs. In particular, ambiguity surrounding

Feasibility and Preliminary Efficacy of Integrative Neuromuscular Training for Childhood Cancer Survivors: A Pilot Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often exhibit early deficits in muscle and movement competence, which can compromise long‐term health. Integrative neuromuscular training (INT), a multifaceted approach combining fundamental movement activities with strength exercises, may help address these deficits during ...

Hippo pathway effectors YAP/TAZ as novel determinants of ferroptosis

open access: yesMolecular & Cellular Oncology, 2020
Ferroptosis is a novel form of programmed cell death. We found that the ferroptosis sensitivity in renal and ovarian cancers are regulated by cell density through TAZ-EMP1-NOX4 and TAZ-ANGPTL4-NOX2 pathway, respectively.

Quasi-alternating links with small determinant

open access: yes, 2015
Quasi-alternating links of determinant 1, 2, 3, and 5 were previously classified by Greene and Teragaito, who showed that the only such links are two-bridge.

The Role of Invasive Procedures in the Treatment of Complicated Gastrointestinal Graft‐Versus‐Host Disease in Pediatric Patients

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Gastrointestinal graft‐versus‐host disease (GI GVHD) following hematopoietic stem cell transplant is typically managed with medical therapy, but surgery and angioembolization may be warranted in selected cases with life‐threatening complications.

Binary quadratic forms of determinant −pq

open access: yesJournal of Number Theory, 1972
AbstractThe following theorem is proved: If p and q are distinct primes of the form 4n + 1, and (p | q) = 1, then x2 − pqy2 represents −1 if (p | q)4 = (q | p)4 = −1; p if (q | p)4 = −(p | q)4 = 1; q if (p | q)4 = −(q | p)4 = 1. If (p | q)4 = (q | p)4 = 1, there are examples with any of the three being represented.

Ethnic Differences in the Association Between SOD2 rs4880 and Hepatotoxicity in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia: A Report From the REDIAL Consortium

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Treatment‐associated hepatotoxicity (TAH) is a common complication of pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) treatment, but genetic risk factors remain poorly understood. We evaluated the SOD2 rs4880 variant in 544 children with ALL at Texas Children's Hospital. After adjusting for demographic and clinical covariates, the rs4880 C allele
