The Determinant of Profit Inefficiency of Soybean Producers in Niger State, Nigeria

open access: yesBADEGGI JOURNAL OF AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH AND ENVIRONMENT, 2023
This research work examined the determinants of profit inefficiency of soybean producers in Niger State of Nigeria. Multi-stage sampling method was used to sample 216 respondents for the purpose of this research work. Primary data were taken on respondents’ socio-economic factors, cost and return and determinants of profit inefficiency of soybean ...

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Cost Analysis and Determinants of Inefficiency of Hemodialysis Services

open access: yesJournal of Social Research
This study aims to analyze the cost of hemodialysis services in patients with Chronic Kidney Failure (CKD) at Dr. Abdul Radjak Purwakarta Hospital using the Activity-Based Costing (ABC) approach with a bottom-up method. In addition, this study also identifies inefficiency factors through Value Stream Mapping (VSM) analysis.

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

Determinants of the cost efficiency of Teff production in South Soddo District, Gurage Zone, Central Ethiopia Region, Ethiopia

open access: yesDiscover Sustainability
This study examines the determinants of cost efficiency among smallholder Teff producers in South Soddo District, Ethiopia. Using stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) based on cross-sectional data from 196 households, this research estimates the level of ...

Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

Normal‐Appearing White Matter Injury Mediates Chronic Deep Venous Hypoxia and Disease Progression in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...

Efficiency of Manchega Sheep Milk Intended for Cheesemaking and Determination of Factors Causing Inefficiency

open access: yesAnimals, 2023
Understanding the factors that determine and regulate cheese yield would allow, through deterministic parametric efficiency models, the determination of the most appropriate milk characteristics for the industry, and the estimation of a technological value for these characteristics. The present study aims to evaluate coagulation performance of Manchega

White Matter Hyperintensity Burden and Short‐Interval Change Associated With Sleep Apnoea in the UK Biobank

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Purpose White matter hyperintensities (WMH) are a core neuroimaging marker of cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD). Sleep apnoea (SA) is a recognized vascular risk factor, but its associations with regional WMH burden, short‐interval WMH change and cognitive performance in population‐based cohorts remain incompletely defined. We
