Determinism of multirelations

open access: yesJournal of Logical and Algebraic Methods in Programming
Binary multirelations can model alternating nondeterminism, for instance, in games or nondeterministically evolving systems interacting with an environment. Such systems can show partial or total functional behaviour at both levels of alternation, so that nondeterministic behaviour may occur only at one level or both levels, or not at all.

The Role of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Ataxia‐Telangiectasia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ataxia‐telangiectasia (A‐T) is a DNA repair disorder characterized by neurodegeneration, immunodeficiency, and cancer predisposition. Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is an established therapy in related disorders such as Fanconi anemia (FA) and Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS), but its role in A‐T is unclear.

Quand les possessifs ne servent pas à introduire un nouveau référent : analyse de corpus [PDF]

open access: yesSHS Web of Conferences
This article presents a corpus study of possessive noun phrases in French. Possessive determiners are usually presented as determiners dedicated to the first mention of referents, which is not always the case. The study presented in this paper shows that

The Mayans: Climate determinism or geomagnetic determinism? [PDF]

open access: yesEos, Transactions American Geophysical Union, 2007
Climatic variations since the end of the last ice age have been large enough to influence the fate of ancient civilizations, and deciphering the exact role of climate in the history of old societies is an active and challenging domain of research [e.g., deMenocal, 2001]. This potential influence, which serves as the foundation of ‘climate determinism,’

Supporting Survivor‐Centered Care Through Digital Health Integration

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Survivors of childhood cancer face barriers to receiving guideline‐based, long‐term follow‐up care. Two digital tools, Passport for Care (PFC) and Cancer SurvivorLink (SurvivorLink), address complementary gaps by enabling tailored survivorship care plan (SCP) generation, updating, storage, and sharing.

Determiners and (un)certainty

open access: yes, 2002
As noted by Haspelmath (1997), determiners and pronouns sensitive to “knowledge of the speaker ” exist in different languages. Examples are the –to series in Russian, some and a certain (see Farkas, this volume), and irgendein in German (Kratzer 2001 ...

Determinism and non-determinism in PDL

open access: yesTheoretical Computer Science, 1991
In a previous paper of the author it is proven that if we add the iteration to SPDL (strict propositional dynamic logic) then the new system has the same expressive power as PDL (propositional dynamic logic). Under review the case of nondeterminism is studied.

The article a(n) in English quantifying expressions: A default marker of cardinality

open access: yesGlossa, 2020
Certain English quantificational expressions feature what appears to be an indefinite article, e.g. a bunch, a few, a hundred. These can be divided into three types of quantifying expressions: pseudopartitives (a lot, a bunch, a ton), article-requiring ...
