Free will and conformity: less faith in free will corresponds to greater tendency to conformism [PDF]

open access: yesОмский научный вестник: Серия "Общество. История. Современность", 2019
Philosophical debates around the concept of free will have not ceased for many centuries. Modern discussions in moral philosophy are increasingly turning to new scientific discoveries of social psychology and neurobiology.

Achieving Determinism in Adaptive AUTOSAR [PDF]

open access: yesDesign, Automation and Test in Europe, 2019
AUTOSAR Adaptive Platform (AP) is an emerging industry standard that tackles the challenges of modern auto-motive software design, but does not provide adequate mechanisms to enforce deterministic execution.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

God, Worship, and Freedom

open access: yesProfil, 2021
In this article, the authors give an answer to the question of whether God would be worthy of worship had He created (or even permitted) a world where no human action was freely done.

Association of Corticospinal Tract Asymmetry With Ambulatory Ability After Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ambulatory ability after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is important to patients. We tested whether asymmetry between ipsi‐ and contra‐lesional corticospinal tracts (CSTs) assessed by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is associated with post‐ICH ambulation.

Diffusion Spectrum Imaging Maps Early Axonal Loss and a Unique Progressive Signal in Neuronal Intranuclear Inclusion Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To delineate specific in vivo white matter pathology in neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) using diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI) and define its clinical relevance. Methods DSI was performed on 42 NIID patients and 38 matched controls.

Le film de genre est-il comparable à une "expérience de pensée" ? Révisions des concepts de déterminisme et d'agentivité dans trois films noirs (1947-1949)

open access: yesLabyrinth: An International Journal for Philosophy, Value Theory and Sociocultural Hermeneutics, 2020
Is genre film comparable to a thought experiment? Revising concepts of determinism and agency in three film noirs (1947-1949)   The philosophical approach of film genres, first popularized by authors like Stanley Cavell, allows to consider genre films as

Hopfield Neural Networks for Online Constrained Parameter Estimation With Time‐Varying Dynamics and Disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Między determinizmem a prawdopodobieństwem – analiza poglądów Jana Łukasiewicza [PDF]

open access: yesArgument, 2014
In the contemporary philosophical debate about probability, one of the main problems concerns the relation between objective probability and determinism. Is it possible for objective probability and determinism to co‑exist?
