Classical mechanics without determinism
Classical statistical particle mechanics in the configuration space can be represented by a nonlinear Schrodinger equation. Even without assuming the existence of deterministic particle trajectories, the resulting quantum-like statistical interpretation ...

Determinants of Collateral [PDF]
This paper draws upon the theory of contracting under asymmetric information to postulate and test several hypotheses concerning the relationship between the use and amount of collateral in financial loans to firms, the risk profile of the borrower, business cycle and monetary conditions of the economy, strength of the lending relation between borrower

Contingency, Free Will, and Particular Providence
The results from contemporary science, especially the theory of evolution and quantum physics, seem to favor process theology. Moreover, the evil committed by free will leads some theologians to reduce divine action in order to prevent God from being ...

The orbital‐current‐induced torque is investigated as an efficient method for controlling magnetization direction. By introducing Ti as an orbital current source in Ti/Ta (or Pt)/CoFeB/MgO structures, the switching current is reduced by ∼25% compared to a conventional spin‐orbit torque structure of Ta/CoFeB/MgO.

Stabilizer group of generalized determinant [PDF]
In this paper, we consider linear combination of determinant and permanent, which we call generalized determinant, and determine the stabilizer group of it.

A Novel Approach to Implementing Artificial Thalamic Neurons with Ferroelectric Transistors
Artificial neurons created using CMOS technology often require a large number of transistors and capacitors. This study introduces an artificial thalamic neuron that employs only five CMOS compatible ferroelectric transistors. The manufactured thalamic neuron demonstrates leaky integrate‐and‐fire‐or‐burst (LIFB) functionalities, featuring self ...

Classification of Random Boolean Networks [PDF]
We provide the first classification of different types of Random Boolean Networks (RBNs). We study the differences of RBNs depending on the degree of synchronicity and determinism of their updating scheme. For doing so, we first define three new types of

In this paper, we consider termination of probabilistic programs with real-valued variables. The questions concerned are: 1. qualitative ones that ask (i) whether the program terminates with probability 1 (almost-sure termination) and (ii) whether the ...
