Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Prokaryotic Diversity in Mangrove Sediments across Southeastern China Fundamentally Differs from That in Other Biomes

open access: yesmSystems, 2019
Mangroves, as a blue carbon reservoir, provide an environment for a variety of microorganisms. Mangroves lie in special locations connecting coastal and estuarine areas and experience fluctuating conditions, which are expected to intensify with climate ...

Covid-19 Data Analysis in Tarakan with Poisson Regression and Spatial Poisson Process

open access: yesCauchy: Jurnal Matematika Murni dan Aplikasi, 2023
COVID-19 entered Indonesia in March 2020 and included North Kalimantan Province, Tarakan. COVID-19 cases have outspread in Tarakan. The cause of the outspread and the patterns were not known yet. One relevant approach was to use Generalized Linear Models.

Iterated deterministic substitution

open access: yesActa Informatica, 1977
Deterministic substitution of languages means substituting the same word (from a given language) for all occurrences of a symbol. For an arbitrary family $K$ of languages the notion of deterministic $K$-iteration grammar is introduced, which is essentially the iteration of a finite number of deterministic substitutions of languages from $K$.

A Lightweight Procedural Layer for Hybrid Experimental–Computational Workflows in Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We unveil a prototype hybrid‐workflow framework that fuses automatedcomputation with hands‐on experiments. Built atop pyiron, a lightweight, parameterized layer translates procedure descriptions into executable manual steps, syncing instrument settings, human interventions, and data capture in real‐time today.

Distinct drivers of bacterial community assembly processes in riverine islands in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum
Riverine islands are widespread alluvium wetlands developed in large rivers, and bacterial communities are crucial to their ecological function, yet their assembly processes are rarely addressed.

Methodology to Enhance the Predictability of I/O Data Exchange Between Device and Tasks [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2007
Data coming from devices shall be transported to a specific task to be used in a software with the most accurate time and data integrity. During this process, a potential cause for invoking structured hazard and performance degradation is dormant.

The presentation of deterministic and strongly deterministic graphs

open access: yesAlgebra and Discrete Mathematics, 2023
The paper proposes a presentation of D-graphsand SD-graphs by a defining pair of words in the alphabet of their vertex labels. We present an algorithm that, given an arbitrary pair of sets, either constructs a D-graph for which this pair is the defining pair or informs that it is impossible to do so.

Encyclopedia of 2D β′‐In2Se3 Growth Using Chemical Vapor Deposition: The Effects of Synthesis Parameters Onto Material Quality

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A distinct semi‐confined inner‐tube chemical vapor deposition geometry enables reproducible, large‐area growth of phase‐pure 2D β′‐In2Se3 from InI + Se precursors. Engineering local vapor transport and optimizing precursor delivery and temperature–time conditions yield uniform continuous films.
