A comparison of deterministic and probabilistic methods for indoor localization
Journal of Systems and Software, 2011Received signal strength indication fingerprinting (RSSIF) is an indoor localization technique that exploits the prevalence of wireless local area networks (WLANs). Past research into RSSIF systems has seen the development of a number of algorithmic methods that provide effective indoor positioning. A key limitation, however, is that the performance of

Sampling and Deterministic Modeling Methods
2016Prior to any earth sciences modeling, the basic data quality, reliability, and sufficiency are the basic questions that must be grasped by the specialists in the earth sciences domain so that she/he can continue for better description and modeling of the phenomenon concerned.

Infinitesimal methods in control theory: Deterministic and stochastic
Acta Applicandae Mathematicae, 1986The entire work has been devided into two parts. The methods of nonstandard analysis are applied to deterministic control theory extending earlier work by the author, in Part I. Compactness of relaxed controls, continuity of solution and cost as functions of the controls, and existence of optimal controls are included in the established results.

Methods for generating deterministic fractals and image compression
1990We survey recently developed methods for generating deterministic fractals that have the potential for compression of arbitrary (practical) images. They are the Iterative Function Systems developed by Barnsley, the probabilistic finite generators, and probabilistic mutually recursive systems that generalize both former methods. We briefly introduce the

Cost Optimizing Methods for Deterministic Queuing Systems
2016The paper discusses two proposed methods for the cost optimization of the deterministic queuing system based on the control of the queue lengths. The first method uses the evaluation of actual states at the particular service places according to their development.

Deterministic Task Scheduling Method in Multiprocessor Environment
2018Task Scheduling is one of the thrust areas of the research in parallel computing where tasks are allocated in the available processors. The objective of the task scheduling method is to minimize the overall execution time in multiprocessor environment.

Deterministic Convergence of an Online Gradient Method with Momentum
2006An online gradient method with momentum for feedforward neural network is considered. The learning rate is set to be a constant and the momentum coefficient an adaptive variable. Both the weak and strong convergence results are proved, as well as the convergence rates for the error function and for the weight.
