Transcription Factor Promiscuity Drives Regulatory Rewiring and Evolvability in Gene Networks in Bacteria

When a master transcription factor (TF) is lost, bacteria can rapidly rewire gene regulatory networks by co‐opting related regulators. Using experimental evolution in Pseudomonas fluorescens, we show that TF promiscuity (low‐level, non‐cognate binding) provides the raw material for rewiring. Random Time‐Space Coding Metasurfaces for Spatial Control of the Temporal Statistics of Electromagnetic Fields

A probabilistic framework based on random time‐space coding metasurfaces enables control of the spatial distribution of electromagnetic fields temporal statistics. By tailoring the marginal and joint distributions of random codes, electromagnetic fields with desired mean and variance patterns are realized, enabling simultaneous transmission and jamming.

Nonrelativistic Spin Current Generated Unconventional Spin Hall Magnetoresistance in Altermagnetic RuO2

It is reported that the unconventional spin Hall magnetoresistance generated from nonrelativistic spin currents in RuO2 is capable of accurately detecting spin current polarization and disentangling the T̂$\hat{T}$‐odd and T̂$\hat{T}$‐even components of a spin current.
