Gaseous Detonation. I. Initiation of Detonation
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1951By means of piezoelectric gauges, a study has been made of the development of detonation from a shock wave propagated into a mixture. With a sufficiently strong shock, detonation above the stable velocity is immediately established which decays smoothly to the steady state. When the shock is weaker than required for detonation the phenomena which ensue

The shape of detonation front and the detonation velocity
AIP Conference Proceedings, 1994The governing equation for the steady‐state detonation front is given in this paper. The boundary condition which is decoupled from the flow variables in the reaction zone can be obtained from the stability analysis. The shape of detonation front is calculated.
