Interaction of Detonation Nanodiamonds with Hispidin
Journal of Korean Powder Metallurgy Institute, 2020Hispidin is a secondary metabolite found in numerous medicinal mushrooms that has attracted significant attention, owing to its distinct biological effects, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antitumor, and cytoprotective properties. Experiments are being carried out to study the interaction of detonation nanodiamonds (DNDs) with synthetic and ...

Deep purification of detonation nanodiamond material
Journal of Superhard Materials, 2013The paper presents new alternative procedures of chemical purification of detonation nanodiamonds and diamond-bearing detonation soot to remove water-insoluble metal-containing impurities through a high-temperature treatment using solutions of complexons of concentration 0.5 to 20 wt %, where the ratio between the detonation nanodiamond material and ...

Electron emission properties of detonation nanodiamonds
Physics of the Solid State, 2004This paper summarizes the results of systematic studies of field electron emission from detonation nanodiamond coatings corresponding to nanodiamond powders of different modifications. The role of the chemical composition of the surface of detonation nanodiamond particles in field emission mechanisms is discussed.

Saturable absorption in detonation nanodiamond dispersions
Journal of Nanophotonics, 2017We report on a saturable absorption in aqueous dispersions of nanodiamonds with femtosecond laser pulse excitation at a wavelength of 795 nm. The open aperture Z-scan experiments reveal that in a wide range of nanodiamond particle sizes and concentrations, a light-induced increase of transmittance occurs.

Raman spectroscopy study of detonation nanodiamond
Diamond and Related Materials, 2018Abstract Raman spectroscopy is a technique that is now widely used to study all carbon materials and carbon nanostructures and as such is one of the characterization methods that can be used for the analysis of nanodiamonds. In this paper, we focus on detonation nanodiamonds, the contributions and weaknesses of the method for the understanding of ...

Detonation nanodiamonds in oils and lubricants
Journal of Superhard Materials, 2010The paper presents the main findings of the investigation into the potential of using detonation nanodiamonds and diamond-containing soot (an intermediate product of the nanodiamond synthesis) as high-performance antifriction and wear-preventive additives to oil-based compounds. The application of these products is demonstrated to offer great benefits:

Microwave-assisted purification of detonation nanodiamond
Diamond and Related Materials, 2014In the present work microwave-assisted purification approaches for detonation nanodiamond (DND) are considered, and the resultant impurity content of purified DND revealed by direct ICP-MS and elemental analysis. A significant reduction in noncarbon contaminants as compared with detonation soot was achieved with resulting purity of 99.95%.

Detonation nanodiamonds as UV radiation filter
Diamond and Related Materials, 2007Abstract The attenuation of ultraviolet radiation (UVR) by detonation nanodiamonds (DND) can be significant, depending on the concentration, composition of DND surface, size of DND particles and content of nitrogen defects in DND. The ability of DND to attenuate efficiently UVA (320–400 nm), UVB (290–320 nm) and UVC (190–290) radiation via absorption

Electrical properties of monodispersed detonation nanodiamonds
Applied Physics Letters, 2010The electrical properties of monodispersed detonation nanodiamonds (DNDs) have been studied; a resistivity of the order of 1012 Ω/sq has been determined, with only one significant conduction pathway being observed. The dielectric character of the DND particles is also good, with dielectric loss tangent values in the range 0.05–0.5 being recorded. These
